I started this blog because I love movies. I’m not a professional critic, but just a 30 something black woman living in Atlanta. To escape my regular existence as an attorney, you can often find me in a movie theater or watching a DVD in my free time.
This blog is a journal of thoughtful films that feature people of color and/or varied experiences of people of color. Although I watch all types of movies, I chose this niche because I have gotten tired of stereotypical films about people of color. [See post: Welcome to the Sepia Screen] We are not all criminals, civil rights martyrs, maids, junkies, etc. There all types of people in the world and all types of different stories to be told. This blog will feature my favorites, old and new. I will also promote some discourse on race, racism and film. I hope you enjoy.
